On 14th February 2024, the Lorraine Music Platform was launched for all students of SDA Schools across India at SDA School, Spencer Road, Bengaluru. Present at the blessed occasion were Dr. Edison Samraj, Director of Education, South Asia Division of SDA; Mr. Issac Abraham, Educational Director, Karnataka & Goa; Mr. Gana Prakash, Principal, SDA School & Pre-University College, Spencer Road, Bengaluru; Mrs. Lorraine Fiona Aloysius & Mr. Aubrey Aloysius, Co-Founders of Lorraine Music Academy, SDA School Teachers and over 1,000 students.
Music Learning of the highest global standards is now made available on the Lorraine Music Platform through over 275 SDA Schools, Colleges & Universities across 28 States & 8 Union Territories of India, Nepal, Bhutan & Maldives; impacting over 200,000 students, their families and communities.

Lorraine Music will mentor, guide and teach you how to play an instrument (Piano / Keyboard) and learn music online. Lorraine Music was created as a result of 18+ years of immersion in music education, promotion, and edutainment. We have taught 10,000+ students over the past many years and we look forward to teaching you. The Lorraine Music Platform is available to you 24 x 7 x 366. You can log in and access music learning online from anywhere at any time. The first course is called “Introduction to Music” which will take a year to complete. The student can access the full course of lessons in a sequential manner, making progress after achieving a good score at each lesson. We will also have periodic schedules of (a) Master Classes and (b) Music Workshops as you progress. At the end of course you will receive a Certificate from Lorraine Music Academy.
On completion of the “Introduction to Music” course, you can enroll for the next course on the completion of which you will receive an International Certificate from a reputed International College and a Certificate from Lorraine Music Academy.
The course fee is only INR 25,000 per student.

For all SDA students, we offer a Special Scholarship* of ₹ 16,230/- (which amounts to less than the price of a good cup of Kaapi per day).
* T&C: Only those SDA students who have successfully completed the Nation Building Project “Come India Sing JANA GANA MANA” can avail of the above Special Scholarship by uploading the digital certificate which the SDA student will receive on completion of the Nation Building Project.
You will need to have a Keyboard (ideally 5 octaves minimum) and a mobile smart phone. The Keyboard costs between INR 849 to INR 9,000. The Keyboard can be purchased from any local music store or the Manufacturer or from Amazon for home delivery.

Which instrument should my child or I start with to learn Music?
The Piano / Keyboard is the best instrument to start learning the fundamentals of music on. It is the only instrument that can play all 88 notes on the musical scale. The notes played can be higher and lower than all other instruments. The Piano / Keyboard is basically the base foundation for all other musical instruments. No instrument is more visual than the Piano / Keyboard. The Piano / Keyboard has all its keys laid out in a neat little line from left to right. Chords, scales and pretty much every element of music just makes more sense on the Piano / Keyboard.
When, where and how do the music lessons take place?
Our classes take place online on the Lorraine Music Platform, and is available 24x7x365. You can log in and access music learning online from anywhere at any time. You can access the full course of lessons in a sequential manner, making progress after achieving a good score at each lesson. We will also have for you periodic (a) Master Classes and (b) Music Workshops as you progress.
All you need is a web-enabled device with a microphone, a stable Internet connection, and your musical instrument (see system requirements).
What will my child or I be able to do after Introduction to Music?
Your child will be trained in various aspects of music education in a fun and simple way. They will be taught to read sheet music, music notation and train their ear for music. Your child will be able to play more than 20 songs.
Do I need to have my own musical instrument?
YES. To practice well and often, it is necessary to have your own musical instrument. You will need to have a Keyboard (5 octave) and a tablet / mobile smart phone. The Keyboard costs about INR 9,000 and can be purchased from any local music store or from Amazon for home delivery.
How can I play?

What system requirements have to be met?
To join, ensure you have a device such as a computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile smart phone with internet access, and a microphone. You can use web browsers like Google Chrome for computers and tablets. For mobile devices, make sure you have a stable internet connection and consider using browsers like Chrome on Android or Safari on iOS. Aim for a recommended minimum speed of 1Mbps for downloading and 512kbps for uploading.
Can I pause my classes for 1-2 weeks if I have an emergency or go for a holiday?
Yes, courses and classes can be paused and restarted at any time from your side as convenient to you. You have complete freedom and flexibility.
Which books do I need and where do u get them?
All syllabus, sheets music, books will be provided by us in Digital Format which you can download and use as soon as you register along with your login credentials. You can also purchase the books in case you need a physical copy with you.
What do I receive at the end of the “Introduction to Music” course?
At the end of course you will receive a Certificate from Lorraine Music Academy.
What do I do after completing the “Introduction to Music” course?
On completion of the “Introduction to Music” course, you can enroll for the next course on the completion of which you will receive an International Certificate from a reputed International College and a Certificate from Lorraine Music Academy.
